Learning From Kobe!!!

So I guess we all know Kobe Bryant…He is truly an amazing guy. Considering the fact that he went into the NBA, right from high school where he had one of the best SAT grades. This just certifies him as a role model .I didn’t know who “kobe Bryant” was until 2 days ago. So I woke up at 5am to read, when my cousin decided to watch basketball…Rolls eyes* and am like “am trying to read here…and then he goes KB is playing and I have to watch it…” so the usual me would go somewhere else to read, but that morning and day in particular was just different. So I watched the game with him.

For someone who has never watched a basketball game before, I was truly impressed. First of all, kobe scores like lightening…. literally he is just too good to be true. On his farewell game, he did what most couldn’t do for championships, He gave it his all. Just sitting there looking at the screen I learnt  a whole lot from him, especially after his press speech. So am just gonna share a few with you all.

  1. What exactly do you want

So a lot of us find it difficult to just make up our minds, on what we really want. I guess this is normal for everyone to be indecisive at one point in their life, but it becomes a problem when it becomes the bases of our life. Kobe knew what he wanted right from the start, he wasn’t confused. Taking time to make the right decisions might seem so overwhelming , so why not consult someone you can really trust to give you the best advise no matter how harsh an bitter it may be.

2. Love what you do or you might has well do what you love.

So I remember talking with a friend and I was like “why waste 4 years of your life studying a course you don’t like or even understand when you can study what you love and for that same 4 years ” sometimes I feel I talk too much, but really this is just the basic truth.  Why waste years struggling when you can spend it being proactive??? Really why!!! And if for any reason you find yourself settling for something, you might as well love it . “Remember that with time comes love” giving and dedicating yourself and time to something rewards you with great success.

3. Positive energy and environment

Kobe, as far as am concerned has the best wife there could possibly be really. Just imagine yourself in this age and time, being a 17year old married to a 21year old and probably naive guy…seriously, that’s a whole lot of responsibility, considering the fact that he is never at home even when he is on break. But he had her, she was there always supporting him even with the allegations and all. He had the best team-mates and friends. Surround yourself with people with a positive influence, to be honest that’s healthy.

4. Nobody is perfect

“Nobody is perfect” we all know that, but we can work towards perfection. Those sleepless night in the court, definitely paid off. I guess I could emulate that, trying to be a better me everyday. It’s not easy to be honest, but “it’s a process and a process takes a deliberate effort”.

So all in all, am gonna give it my all . Am going to give everything I could possibly give to my academics , social life, my relationship with people, my aspirations. Am leaving no stone unturned. Watch out world!!! A new and a better me in progress!!!:)

th

“I gave everything I could possibly could to the game. That’s why am so comfortable walking away from it. I bared my soul for this game, there’s no  stone left unturned . I left it all here…”.         KOBE BRYANT

For the fact that you just knew about him 2days before and you are able to pull out so much than even those that have followed him right from time, you are truly gifted with insights. Keep this up! We have to learn from you and Kobe.
